Lionel Richie's 'Tuskegee' Becomes Year's Second-Biggest Album

This week, Lionel Richie**’s smash “Tuskegee” album becomes the second-biggest selling album of the year with a total of 789,000 sold according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Mercury Nashville set surpasses Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Hits,” which falls to No. 3 (784,000). The year’s top seller is Adele**’s “21” with 3.3 million.

Even better news for Richie: “Tuskegee” has now outsold his last three studio albums combined. His three previous sets have moved a cumulative 751,000. “Just Go” was the album that preceded “Tuskegee” and has sold 95,000 since its bow in 2009. “Coming Home” (2006) and “Just For You” (2004) have shifted 449,000 and 207,000, respectively.

“Tuskegee” debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart eight weeks ago with 199,000 — his best sales week since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. It rose to No. 1 two weeks later, becoming the R&B and pop icon’s third No. 1 album, and his first since 1986’s “Dancing on the Ceiling” spent two weeks in the penthouse.

The new album’s single, “Endless Love” (featuring Shania Twain**), rises from No. 16 to No. 15 on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart this week. The tune’s video is nominated for collaborative video of the year at the upcoming CMT Music Awards, due to be broadcast on June 6.

Clipse's Malice Changes Name To 'No Malice'

Malice, one-half of Virginia coke-rap duo Clipse**, has made the ultimate sacrifice to showcase his newfound outspokenness about religion: he has officially changed his name to “No Malice.”

On Tuesday (Mar. 6), the rapper (real name: Gene Thornton) posted on Twitter, “R.I.P. “Malice” 8/20/2002 - 3/6/2012,” and linked to a video that shows him entering a funeral parlor in a dress shirt and bow tie, staring down at himself in a casket (wearing a hooded sweatshirt), shaking his head and walking away. His Twitter handle now reads @NoMalice757, and his Twitter name stands as, “aka Yes My Lord.”

Since Malice and his younger brother, Terrence “Pusha T” Thornton, released its third official album as Clipse, “Til The Casket Drops,” in 2009, Malice has seemingly undergone a rebirth, becoming more outspoken about his Christian affiliation and penning a memoir, “Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked,” in the process. “I have a good grasp on what’s important now,” he told the Village Voice in early 2011. “I was chasing all these material things, money, women … just looking for fulfillment. Ultimately though, my fulfillment came from my faith.”

While Malice (er, No Malice) promises that a new solo project, “Hear Ye Him!,” is coming this summer, Pusha T is currently working on his debut album for Kanye West**’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint, after releasing a pair of mixtapes, “Fear of God” and “Fear of God II: Let Us Pray,” in 2011. West will executive-produce the album, and last month, R&B songwriting maestro The-Dream** told Billboard.com that he had penned eight songs for the release.

WTF Man Who Put Toddler into Washing Machine Not Boy’s Father

Babysitter attempts to open machineThe two adults shown loading a 13-month-old child into a commercial washing machine in a shocking video viewed by millions were not the boy’s parents but a babysitter and her male friend. “We talked to the people in the video and they were not the parents of the child,” Camden County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson Jason Laughlin tells Shine. “We won’t be charging anyone. We were looking for purposeful endangerment and we didn’t see that.”

The story was picked up by major news outlets after a surveillance video showing a man putting a toddler into a washing machine, which then automatically locked shut and began filling with water, was released and watched by people across the country earlier this week. Reportedly, after the incident,the child was taken to the hospital for scrapes and bruises but was otherwise unharmed.

In the video, after the machine begins to cycle, laundry mat employee Kong Eng rushes to help the man and woman who appear to be panicked. He successfully disables the machine by shutting off the power. “I’m very proud of my worker,” Lorng Chhour, owner of Federal Laundromat, in Camden, New Jersey, told CBS New York. “He’s been with me eight years. I couldn’t find anyone better.”

The man and woman scoop up the youngster and flee the laundromat. Chhour tells Shine that the man referred to the child as “my kid.” “That’s why I thought he was the daddy,” she explains. Employees and witnesses also assumed he was the boy’s father when speaking to the media and the police after the incident.

The prosecutor’s office is sending the case to be reviewed by the state Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS). DYFS spokesperson told Yahoo! Shine, “Due to New Jersey confidentiality laws, we can’t comment on any cases.” The names of all of those involved in the scary mishap remain unidentified.

Friday night, Drake was performing in Washington, D.C. and according to several attendees of the Verizon Center concert, Drizzy let Pusha T have a piece of his mind by saying:

It was Laverne Everett’s sister who posted her skydiving video on YouTube to share with family from out-of-state, not knowing that Laverne would become an internet sensation.

She is the newest star in the latest video that’s gone viral overnight.

“I just wanted to do it,” Laverne said laughing.

This daredevil is 81 years old.

Laverne, who lives in a modest studio apartment in small California town of Oakdale, says she craves a little excitement once in a while. So in 2011 for her 80th birthday she decided to jump out of a plane, much to the surprise of her family.

“They thought I was very brave,” said Laverne. “But, it’s just something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.”
